Penal Interest on Delayed Payment of Monthly Loan Instalments

Customers are informed that penal interest will be applied on overdue monthly loan instalments as follows:

  1. Applicability

The penal interest is applicable when a monthly instalment is not paid on the due date for all retail loan facilities, including but not limited to Housing Loans, Personal Loans and Pension Loans.

  1. Rate of Penal Interest

The applicable penal interest rate is 2% per annum.

The penal interest is calculated only on the overdue monthly instalment(s) after the expiry of the grace period, based on the number of completed months in arrears (one month being considered as 30 days).

  1. Grace Period

A grace period of 30 days is allowed from the due date of each monthly instalment.

Accordingly, no penal interest will be charged if the overdue instalment is settled within 30 days from the due date.
