NSB Receives the Public Sector Most Outstanding ICT Achievement Award at the 23rd National ICT Awards, NBQSA 2021.
National Savings Bank was awarded the Public Sector Most Outstanding ICT Achievement Award in recognition and appreciation of the effort rendered towards the introduction, nurturing and the development of its ICT environment to provide better quality services to the citizens of Sri Lanka through NSB Digital Banking initiative, and the Gold Award for the NSBPay App under the Public Sector and Government Category for enabling Citizen Services and Digital Government Empowerment at National ICT Awards, NBQSA 2021 held at the BMICH on 21st of January, 2022.
NSBPay Application currently acquires 110,000+ active users and crossed LKR 10 Billion worth of transactions within its first year of launching with which NSB has taken the digital initiative to become the most disruptive Government Banker to cater the financial requirements of all and sundry despite generational differences.
PayMedia (Pvt) Ltd. and the DirectPay (Pvt) Ltd. are the technology service providers for development of software and managing this digital initiative of NSBPay Mobile Application. Further to that NSB is currently in the process of implementing future digital services such as blockchain based eKYC integration and further expansions which will impact Sri Lankan society by enabling people to engage in digital transactions which will have a bigger impact to build a tech savvy society. Dr. Amal Illesinghe DGM-IT/CIO of National Savings Bank received the aforesaid awards from Hon. Minister Namal Rajapaksha at the 23rd National ICT Awards, NBQSA 2021.
