National Savings Bank joins hands with ‘Artha’

The program, implemented by the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs, with the intention of extending a helping hand for the daily needs and education of the children residing in Child Development Centers and Government Childcare Centers, was launched recently at Sethsiripaya, Battaramulla. National Savings Bank (NSB) joined hands with this national course as the Official Banking Partner.

It is expected, through this program, to develop a financial plan to facilitate the educational needs of and sustainable income for the children who come to reside in the center’s on various social and humanitarian grounds. Accordingly, a monthly allowance will be granted for these children, under the program.

National Savings Bank works closely with children and implements several programs, targeting the wellbeing of the children on regular basis. Similarly, the Bank intends to provide its contribution towards their personality development and increasing digital literacy, in addition to developing their habit of saving, via ‘Artha’.

Hon. Prime Minister, Dr. Harini Amarasooriya, Hon. Minister of Women and Child Affairs, Mrs. Saroja Savithri Paulraj, Deputy Minister, Dr. Namal Sudarshana, Actg. General Manager/CEO of National Savings Bank, Mr. K Raveendran were among the distinguished guests who graced the occasion.
